Francesca Brunet
Francesca Brunet, PhD degree awarded at the Universities of Innsbruck and Trento within the international programme “Political Communication from Antiquity until the Twentieth Century”, following her studies in History at the Universities of Florence and Venice.
Postdoctoral Fellow at the Austrian Historical Institute in Rome (2015), the University of Frankfurt am Main (2016-2017), and the University of Lucerne (2018-2019), she has also collaborated with various other research institutes. From November 2019 she is researcher at the Competence Centre for Regional History, Free University of Bozen/Bolzano.
Her main areas of research are the history of political and judicial institutions, the legal studies, and the history of criminality und justice in the Habsburg Monarchy during the “long 19th century”.
Dopo gli studi in storia (Università di Firenze e di Venezia), Francesca Brunet si è addottorata presso le Università di Innsbruck e di Trento nell’ambito del dottorato internazionale “Comunicazione politica dall’antichità al XX secolo / Politische Kommunikation von der Antike bis ins 20. Jahrhundert”.
È stata borsista postdoc dell’Istituto storico austriaco di Roma, dell’Università di Francoforte sul Meno (2016-2017), dell’Università di Lucerna (2018-2019). Ha inoltre collaborato con vari altri istituti di ricerca. Da novembre 2019 è ricercatrice presso il Centro di competenza Storia regionale della Libera Università di Bolzano.
Le sue ricerche sono soprattutto rivolte alla storia delle istituzioni politiche e giudiziarie, del diritto e della criminalità nell’Impero austriaco nel corso del “lungo Ottocento”.
